Account security tips
With Internet accounts, you usually authenticate yourself with your password.
Access to your account, including your personal information and authorizations, should therefore be protected by a confidential and secure password.
It is a challenge to combine convenience and familiarity with the necessary security. The same passwords are often used for different accounts, which puts all accounts - even those that have not yet been compromised - at risk.
Therefore, be proactive and assign an individual password for each account that complies with the recommended security guidelines. Public bodies such as the BSI provide useful guidance. You can find more information on secure passwords in their fact sheet:

Keeping your email address confidential can also be a challenge. It is often published, shared on social networks and used for various services. So be aware of whether your email address is potentially at risk. A useful online tool that will tell you if your email address is part of a known data leak is Have I Been Pwned?
Assume that your accounts could be under attack. Thinking you're not interesting enough for hackers is a dangerous fallacy.
